School Governance

Role of the Board of Management

The Board of Management oversees the management of the school on behalf of the Patron (Educate Together) and the Department of Education.

Under the Governance Manual for Primary Schools, our Board serves a four-year term of office and operates in a spirit of transparency, equality, and accountability. It consists of eight members:

  • 2 Patron Nominees (appointed by Educate Together, including the Chairperson)
  • 2 Elected Parent Nominees (one male and one female parent/guardian)
  • 2 School Staff Nominees (the Principal teacher and one elected teacher)
  • 2 Community Nominees (members from the local Killester/Raheny/Clontarf community)
